Itinerary for 2 Nights Camel Trekking in Merzouga Desert
Our 2-night desert trekking adventure will begin in Merzouga village. Upon your arrival at the starting point, we will meet you there. You can enjoy a cup of mint tea and use the restroom before joining the camel caravan for the journey. Once you’re ready, we will start our trek into the heart of the desert.
Our first stop will be on top of a high dune, where you can watch the sunset and take in the stunning landscape of Erg Chebbi Dunes. After the sun sets, we will continue to our campsite, where you will spend your first night in a traditional standard camp.
At the camp, you can relax, or join the guides in cooking, and learn how to make tajine. You can also enjoy the starry sky above. Afterward, you will have a traditional dinner and listen to Berber music around the campfire. Here, you can learn to play drums and hear fascinating stories about the desert from the local guides after your first night.
Day 2: Lunch with a Nomadic Family and Oasis Visit
On the first morning of our two-night desert trek, you can wake up early to witness the magical sunrise over the dunes and enjoy the changing colors of the desert landscape. After that, a delicious breakfast will be served on the dunes while you take in the view.
Next, we will continue our trek to the Oasis, where you can relax and enjoy the scenery before we move on to visit a nomadic family for lunch.
Upon our arrival at the Bedouin family’s home, you will be welcomed with a cup of tea and given some time to rest. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about their way of life and see how they prepare a traditional Berber pizza, which you will enjoy for lunch. Afterward, you can take a walk around the nomadic settlement to experience their lifestyle firsthand.
After visiting the nomadic family, we will head to the luxury desert camp where you will spend your second night in a comfortable private tent with an en-suite bathroom. Upon arrival, you can take a shower and relax. If you’d like, you can take a walk over the dunes and try sandboarding while enjoying the sunset view. Afterward, we will have dinner and enjoy Berber music around the campfire, followed by stargazing. You will have a wonderful night.
Night 2: A Lavish Stay in a Luxury Camp
On the final day of your desert adventure, you have the option to wake up early for the sunrise. After breakfast and a shower, we will return to Merzouga village. When you are ready, we will pick you up in a 4×4 to take you back to the starting point, marking the end of our 2-night desert trek. You will leave with beautiful memories of your experience.

Seeing the camel while going through the dunes of Erg Chebbi early in the morning catching the sun was wonderful, both camps were excellent – the first one was a little rough but very Berber-style, and the second was indulgence filled with comfort. It was very interesting to have lunch with a nomad family and it was so special when we slept in an tent and the stars where beautiful.
